Product Care
To take care of your unique piece from Metal Mayhem, we recommend you follow the following care instructions.
Stainless Steel Jewellery
Stainless Steel jewellery requires little or no maintenance (just an occasional wipe with a dry clean cloth).
Stainless Steel is resistant to scratches however if you are unfortunate enough to lightly damage the finish it can be polished in the direction of the grain using either 180 grit or finer sand / emery or wet & dry paper to remove any marks
Mirrors, Free Standing and Wall Hanging Clocks
Lacquer Finish
Care- an occasion light wipe with a dry clean non abrasive cloth. The purpose of the lacquer finish is to prevent corrosion. If finish is removed/ scratched the piece will rust locally. The lacquer I use is durable/hard wearing but cannot withstand extreme damage. Damage can be repaired but it is best to avoid if possible – please contact Ross for advice
Wax Finish
Care – an occasion light wipe with a dry clean non abrasive cloth. The purpose of the finish is to prevent corrosion. If finish is removed/ scratched the piece will rust locally. The wax I use gives a water resistant/atmospheric barrier but cannot withstand extreme damage.
A suitable wax can be reapplied locally to prevent corrosion if scratched.
Glass
An occasional light wipe with a dry clean non abrasive cloth when necessary.
Do not use cleaning fluids of any kind as they may damage finish to adjoining artwork.
